Bob and Samantha,
What we liked about your wedding:
- The ceremonial raising of the flag we all signed. So cool. The first of many firsts of the day.
- Choosing and keeping our glasses for the evening. If only I (David) wouldn’t have lost mine!
- The setting. It was gorgeous. We felt like we were on top of a mountain. When we arrived, the sky was mottled gray and the wind was blowing with Hurricane Hermine threatening out in the Atlantic. And then the gray was gone and the sky was blue … just as you planned it, right?
- Your vows. Heartfelt. Honest. Hilarious. Bob, we hope you found your contact.
- Bob, we loved that your aunt officiated. She was great, and everyone could tell she was filled with love and honor as she presided.
- Wouldn’t It Be Nice. Perfect choice of music to end the ceremony, and one of David’s favorite songs of all time.
- The specialty drinks. Laura was particularly enamored with the Hendrick’s gin/mint/cucumber concoction.
- The food. Brisket topped David and Max’s list.
- The music. We loved the idea that your guests could contribute to the evening’s playlist.
- Holly’s toast was especially touching. Everyone’s was, but Holly’s really captured what we all were thinking.
- Samantha, your dress was spectacular, and you owned it.
- The groom and groomsmen’s look (especially the boat shoes) was outstanding. So unique—like everything else about the wedding.
- How much fun everyone had. It’s been a while since we’ve been to a wedding, but one thing you always see is people in the back or in the corner, looking around bored or impatient. Not at your wedding. It was filled with love and joy and so much fun. For everyone.
- The two of you. Maybe that’s why everyone at the Water Witch was smiling. It all started with the two of you, and rippled out from there.
What we didn’t like about your wedding:
- The fact that we left before you took the group photo. Damn, if we could go back in time we would do things differently—and I (David) am too old to be thinking “if only I could go back …” Please accept our apology for leaving when we did. Big mistake on our part.
- There is no number two. Your wedding was one of the all time greats.
We love you guys. Thank you so much for such a wonderful and unforgettable day. Congratulations!
