Fifteen minutes of the news this morning was all I could take. I want to scream. I want to cry. The polished vainer of my country has now been fully stripped away. Only the ugly reality remains.

“Evil flourishes when good men do nothing” – this oft used quote (in its many forms and authors) is TRUE. So what? What most aggravates me is the complicity (association or participation in a wrongful act) by our leaders and the many around us.
Each person in their own way must prevent this downward path that is in contrast to what we believe is right and just. It is vital that each of us supports an effort that puts right what we truly cherish, that is, the return to positive democratic rule which provides equality to all. It sounds like something that you might found a country on.
What to do? Each of us must make a choice to reject what is unsound and to act. I can’t tell anyone what form that it should take for them. This determination is left to the individual with their strengths and abilities to act. Don’t be complicit. Find a way to move us forward to a positive conclusion in any form or manner of action possible. An effort, no matter how small it may be perceived, is movement forward.
I, like you David, am furious. Let us all act to change the course.
So well said, Jack. Thanks for expressing what so many of us feel. It’s been a heartbreaking couple of days. Your message reminds me that we’re not alone.
