This self-publishing undertaking of mine has been an adventure. I did my research, made a few mistakes, learned a lot about how long the process actually takes, and—shockingly—made a few correct decisions. One of those decisions was to order yet another, final, physical proof of the book, and then have my crack proofreading/grammar team (Laura) undertake the ultimate, final, complete, very last pass. I’ve already done a million of these passes myself, but hey, what’s one more?
It turns out, it was the right call—as you can see from the forest of sticky notes.
With that task complete, I have happily, nervously, clicked the “Proof Approved” button … and now there is no turning back. Punk Party and Other Accounts of Mischief will soon be a real, physical entity. How about that.
In a few weeks, physical books will be delivered, bookselling websites like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and BookBaby will show pre-ordering availability, and I will huddle in a corner somewhere asking the age-old rhetorical question: “Good god … what have I done?”
As far as all that “Coming This February” hype goes, for now I’m sticking to it. Might be late February, but … you know … short month and all.
Page through selected short excerpts…
Yes! Bring it on and I can’t wait to have a physical copy in my hands!
Excellent! We will celebrate when your book arrives!
I want me free copy Beedle!
Sigh … thank you for answering the question, “Why do struggling artists struggle?” You are killing me, Jimmy!
I’ll wait till it comes to my library, that way I can return it if it ain’t that good.
Actually…, I can’t wait to get my own copy and have the author sign it.
So the saying goes, Nothing ventured, nothing gained ………
Can’t wait! Editors are worth the time. I produced a newsletter one time with a typo on the cover. Opps! After this book is out you should write another book about how you did this one. Just keep is shorter than a lifetime.
I can’t wait to pre-order or order from Barnes and Knobles (hahahaha think of Mom), or any other site!
I loved the excerpts!!
I want this for my bookshelf too. It will not become lost amongst the thousands of others. Yea, right, like I have a bookshelf.
