Sixty-two years ago today, at a church fair, two teenagers met each other for the first time.
One of the boys, who was 16, was performing with his band on a makeshift stage on the back of a truck. The other boy, who had turned 15 less than a month earlier, was standing in the sparse crowd, watching and listening.
After the performance the boy from the crowd gathered the courage to talk with the boy from the band. He showed him some guitar chords he’d recently learned, and then played him a song he liked.
That’s when John asked Paul if he wanted to join his band.
It wouldn’t be long before they would change the world.
Happy Birth-of-The-Beatles Day.
Love it!
The start of many great unions begin with a simple hello. Thank you for sharing your insight and love of The Beatles.
The confluence of simple events are what powerfully shape our lives. If we could only grasp and revel in the depth of these ephemeral moments. That would be profound.
They’ll look back in several centuries and do a palmslap.
